Firm Obtains Million Dollar Subrogation Judgment on Behalf of Client

The Burlington Insurance Company v. New York City Transit Authority, et al., Index No: 102774-2011 (Supreme Ct., New York County) (December 17, 2013).

Ford Marrin recently obtained a million dollar subrogation judgment on behalf of The Burlington Insurance Company (as subrogee of the City of New York) against the New York City Transit Authority (“NYCTA”), one year after successfully obtaining a declaration that Burlington did not owe coverage to the NYCTA in connection with an underlying New York Labor Law action. Besides issuing a judgment for $950,000 plus interest from June 15, 2012, the Court also found that Burlington is entitled to collect attorneys’ fees incurred in defending the City of New York in the underlying action.

Partners Joseph D’Ambrosio and Andrew Mandelbaum, and Associate John Mattoon represent the client in this action.
